IT'S BEGINNING TO SNOW......

Snow, such a beautiful and peaceful thing it is. It blankets the earth, makes everything look clean and fresh. Generally the sun shines brighter, the kid's love it and you can drive your ATV in it. It's awesome...... Unless you are driving a low to the ground rear wheel drive BMW. My "great" little car is absolutely useless in the snow. And believe me it's the car NOT the driver!! Both times we've had the snow I have been grounded for days on end. I can't get out of the driveway. Of course it doesn't help that the driveway is 300' long and we had 8 - 10 inches of snow. It is unbelievably inconvenient and I have the photos to prove it.

Yesterday, I tried to get my car down the driveway BEFORE things got too bad. Well, as you can see, I was clearly unsuccessful. As soon as I'm able I'm making a trip to the auto mall to look at vehicle options. I'm leaning toward the compact SUV's. There are several, the Honda CRV, the Kia Sportage, the Hyundai ??, the Toyota RAV, the Nissan X-trail, the Mazda tribute and of course the Ford Escape. I have heard really good things about the Kia and they are offerring a 5 year warranty. They must think their vehicle will stand the test of time or they wouldn't offer 5 years..... would they? If anyone has any input on this or any of the other SUV's let me know.

Well, Honda's and Toyota's are initially more expensive, but definitely last longer than most domestics, so I would recommend either one of those. My hubby is a mechanic and when he moved from a private shop to a dealership, he chose toyota because he hates working on domestic cars (a few imports too, but he really likes toyota/honda).
